Scientific Name: Neoxithes, Pouteria Oppositifolia
Brazilian Name: Guajara
Brazilian Cherry Light-guajara, although sharing the same nomenclature, is NOT related to the Brazilian Cherry. Even though many believe it to be the lighter version of the aforementioned, it is actually a completely separate exotic hardwood species altogether. Its durability is in excess of 33% to the hardness of Red Oak, with a ranking of 2100 on the Janka Scale. Brazilian Cherry Light is an extraordinary hardwood that is warmly toned, stable, and vastly durable. Its heartwood, similar to Brazilian Cherry, varies from light golden hues, to russet and auburn tones. Its sapwood is not extremely distinguished. The overall shades are quite compatible and harmonize beautifully. This ease makes it especially versatile and capable of blending in seamlessly with any décor.
Its grain is straight, occasionally interlocked and irregular. Additionally, Brazilian Cherry Light has a texture that is fine to medium. With its tremendous resilience and warm brilliance Brazilian Cherry Light is capable of many applications for both interior projects and exterior decking.
